TOWN BOARD MEETING MINUTES

January 19, 2012, 7:30 P.M.

                                                                 

Officers Present, Chairman Martin Johnson, Supervisor Ron Flegner, Supervisor John Meyerhofer, Clerk Julia Reinert and Treasurer Trina Herbst – Gutche .

Chairman Martin Johnson called the Town Board Meeting to order and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 

Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputy was not present. 

Minutes, December 7, 2011.      

 MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES AS PRESENTED, JOHN MEYERHOFER, 2ND BY  RON FLEGNER,    CARRIED.              

Treasurers Report.  

 MOTION TO APPROVE THE TREASURERS REPORT AS PRESENTED, RON FLEGNER,  2ND   BY JOHN     MEYERHOFER,  CARRIED.

Sanitary District Commissioner, Derrald McDaniel term expires. 

 MOTION TO REAPPOINT DERRALD MCDANIEL AS A SANITARY DISTRICT  COMMISSIONER, MARTIN JOHNSON, 2ND BY  RON FLEGNER, CARRIED.

Update on citations issued to owners of unlicensed dogs. Attorney Blazel reported he issued 4 citations. 

Jacquis Road, Bill for blocking off road. The Town did not ask for or authorize this service and will not pay the bill. Chairman Johnson will write a letter to the County Highway Commissioner. 

Set dates for Open Book and Board of Review. The Poygan Town Board set Thursday, April 26, 2012, 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. as the date for Open Book. Board of Review will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. 

Fire Department Report. The new fire truck chassis will be ordered in October of 2012 and the first payment would be due in January of 2013. Chief Ryan Krings did apply for a grant for the new fire truck, but he will not hear until May if we are awarded the grant or not. The new radios will be arriving in May. The total cost of the radios is $181,000 and the fire district is responsible for $3,263.00 of the cost. The fire district responded to 4 structure fires since the last fire board meeting, the MABIS system was used and it worked great.  Aurora Hospital has not committed on the ambulance subsidy yet, without the subsidy our cost for ambulance service will be $3,532.20.  There will be no fire arms allowed in the fire station. Total runs for 2011 were 308 this down from 329 runs in 2010. 

Road Report. All Ways Concrete was called out to salt the road at a recent house fire, Jason’s response time was good and he did an excellent job. Snow plowing went well with one exception, Church Road was missed and Radtke had to be called back to plow that road. We have a Lake Poygan Road sign and a speed sign on O’Reilly Road missing. The town has its Erosion Control Permit for 2012. 

Chairman Johnson reported that there were no Building Permits issued during the last month. 

Planning and Zoning. The January meeting was cancelled. 

Questions and Comments. There were some question and comments on the new updated  web site. 

The calendar was presented, with a change to the February meeting date. The February meeting will be held February 23, 2012 @ 7:30p.m. 

Pay Bills. 

MOTION TO PAY BILLS PRESENTED NOW AND UP UNTIL THE NEXT MEETING, MARTIN JOHNSON, 2ND BY RON FLEGNER, CARRIED.
